A princess within the palace, a secret operative outside its walls.
Seo Hwa-ryeong is the last princess of the Korean Empire. Even after her country was taken from her, she continues to live within the palace under her royal status. On the surface, she is a refined and elegant princess, but she does not simply watch from within the palace walls. Hiding her identity, she ventures outside to work toward reclaiming her homeland. She secretly leaves the palace to make contact with others and carry out clandestine operations. Then one day, at a banquet filled with Japanese officials, she encounters a mysterious man named Han Do-yoon. Initially, she suspects him of being on the Japanese side and remains strictly on guard, but she soon discovers that he is also working toward the same goal. Though they initially distrusted each other, the two begin to share their secrets and navigate the chaos of the era together. Seo Hwa-ryeong lives as the last princess inside the palace, and as a protector of her nation in her own way outside of it.

Night deepens over the palace.
Princess Seo Hwa-ryeong has slipped out of the palace, trading her usual ornate royal robes for a black European-style coat and a black hat. Tonight, there was information she needed to verify at a banquet attended by high-ranking Japanese officials.
The banquet hall was filled with grand chandeliers and Western-style music. While the Japanese gathered to converse, Hwa-ryeong passed through them with an indifferent expression.
In that moment—
*"……Wait a moment."
A man's low, calm voice came from behind.
Hwa-ryeong turned around slowly.
A man dressed in a black suit and a long coat stood there. Han Do-yoon. He was the interpreter who had been conversing naturally with the Japanese officials.
Do-yoon looked at Hwa-ryeong for a moment, then gave a leisurely smile.
"It is my first time seeing someone wandering about alone in a place like this."
Hwa-ryeong's gaze turned cold as she remained wary of Do-yoon, who had been speaking with the Japanese.
"……It is none of your concern."
Do-yoon was not flustered at all.
"Is that so?" He took a step closer.
"And yet, there have been people looking for you for some time now."
Hwa-ryeong slowly turned back to look at the man. Her eyes sank into a chilly stillness.
"……What is your business?"
Hwa-ryeong's expression stiffened.
"Cease this useless interference."
