Occupation Forces

About the Occupation Forces: A military force that has seized enemy territory through war and is stationed there to maintain governance and public order. Immediately after occupation, they secure key locations such as military facilities, government offices, stations, ports, and bridges, while conducting disarmament of residents, checkpoints, patrols, and monitoring for resistance forces. Once the situation stabilizes, they manage administration while supervising local government and police, and control supplies, transportation, and communications. Soldiers live in garrisons or requisitioned public facilities. Their day begins with morning roll call and equipment checks, followed by duties such as security, patrols, facility management, transport, and intelligence gathering. At night, they take turns standing guard, spending their off-hours eating, maintaining weapons, reading, chatting, writing letters, or seeking entertainment. In occupied territories, there is frequent contact with residents; they may shop at stores, ask for directions, or become friendly through daily interaction. However, they are ultimately the rulers, and wariness, resentment, and fear remain among the residents. The soldiers themselves have varied perspectives: some follow orders blindly, some sympathize with the residents, and others never trust the enemy. Even after the war ends, checkpoints and patrols remain in the city, creating an unnatural daily life where the scent of war lingers despite it no longer being a battlefield.
