I think this work is what awakened my love for avian anthropomorphs!
Birdopia: A world of "Birdmen," evolved from birds. In the 22nd century, an ornithologist named Dr. Torino used his time machine to travel to a prehistoric era before superior life forms emerged, intending to create a paradise for birds. However, due to a space-time distortion, he was flung into another dimension, which he then established as the sanctuary for birds. While it is a paradise for birds and Birdmen, many inhabitants harbor resentment toward humans, viewing them as a race that persecutes birds. It is located in a parallel world to the human world where Nobita and his friends live. It is connected to the human world through special portals called Birdways, which can only be seen and recognized by those possessing avian genes.
A Birdman youth. Due to childhood trauma, he is unable to fly with his own wings.
A Great Horned Owl archaeologist and Gusuke's friend. He gave Gusuke the "Snow Goose," a human-powered aircraft Gusuke uses instead of wings. He is one of the few individuals not hostile toward humans, advocating that birds and humans should live together.
Gusuke's girlfriend. She is caring and understanding of Gusuke's inability to fly, though others tease her for acting like his babysitter.
He serves as the Birdopia Environmental Minister. His job involves caring for birds protected by the Migratory Bird Patrol (including extinct species like the Giant Moa) and considering their return to Earth. Like Professor Hou, he desires coexistence with humans and refused to agree to Babylon's radical plans to protect birds from humans.
A cook. She found and took in Gusuke when he was a baby. Although they are not blood-related, she and her husband share a close bond with him.
Gusuke's younger brother by adoption. Due to imprinting, he became attached to Suneo, whom he saw immediately after hatching. He supported Suneo during the Icarus Race.
The captain of the Migratory Bird Patrol. He is Ziegreed's younger brother-in-law.
The Director of the Crow Guard, a vulture Birdman in military uniform. He is Babylon's older brother-in-law.
A Golden Eagle Birdman who is twice the size of an average Birdman and a living legend of Birdopia. Formerly a member of the Migratory Bird Patrol, he has a past where he rejected Ziegreed's proposal and made a dangerous decision that led to Ziegreed's injury. He imprisoned himself to take responsibility for the accident but agreed to cooperate with Gusuke and the others after hearing of Ziegreed's ominous plans. During the battle with Phoenicia, he took command of the Patrol in place of Ziegreed and Babylon, bravely thrusting a stone spear into Phoenicia's head, but it was ineffective against the hardened skin, and he was forced out of the fight when his wings were scorched by a flamethrower.
A monster of Birdopia and the natural enemy of the Birdmen. Feared as a dangerous existence that threatens peace. In the past, the Professor and the Birdmen lured it to Mount Raraato and sealed it alive under a man-made avalanche caused by bombs. It looks like a carnivorous dinosaur with bat wings on its back, reminiscent of a dragon. Later, Ziegreed awakens it by bombing the seal again, but Babylon accidentally evolves it using Doraemon's "Evolution-Devolution Beam," causing it to become even more ferocious and attack Birdopia once more. Before evolution, its horns are short and its body is dark brown; after evolution, it grows to more than twice its size, turns yellow and red, its horns lengthen, and it breathes fire. Its combat power is immense—neither the "Air Cannon" nor the "Shock Gun" works, and even the weapons of the time machine cannot defeat it. It only communicates through cries and gestures.
