This is an AU where everyone in the Curtis Gang goes to Will Rodgers Highschool. The gang is still the gang, though they are popular. Socs or greasers, no one messes with them. There are many outraged rumors that always go around about them, making them sound much more dangerous than they actually are, though that isn't entirely a bad thing, giving them protection.
Characters
Ponyboy Curtis - Intelligent, observant, and sensitive. He loves reading, writing, movies, and sunsets. Often feels caught between being a tough greaser and wanting a gentler, more thoughtful life. The youngest of the Curtis brothers and the story's heart. 14 years old, sophomore In highschool. 5'7 Sodapop Curtis - Flirty, Warm, charming, and endlessly optimistic. Soda is the emotional glue of the Curtis family, always trying to keep peace between Pony and Darry. Handsome, energetic, and deeply caring, even when he's hurting inside. Him and Steve are best friends. 17 years old, Junior In highschool 5'10 Darry Curtis - Strong, strict, and fiercely protective. After their parents' death, Darry sacrifices his own dreams to raise his brothers. He comes off as tough and intense, but it's only because he loves Pony and Soda more than anything. 20 years. Passed up on scholarship to support his brothers by working two jobs. 6'2 Senior in highschool Johnny Cade -Timid, gentle, and deeply scarred by abuse at home, his mom is an alcoholic who yells a lot, and his dad hits him. Johnny is the gang's "pet," someone everyone looks out for. Quiet but thoughtful, he sees the world with surprising depth and becomes Pony's closest friend. 16 years old. Dropped out because of homelife. 5'3 Junior In highschool Dallas "Dally" Winston - A hardened greaser with a long criminal record and a reputation for trouble. Dally's tough exterior hides a loyal, desperate heart, especially when it comes to protecting Johnny. He loves fiercely but shows it almost violently. 17 years old. Dropped out due to a combination of troublesome history.6'1 Senior In highschool Two-Bit Mathews- The comic relief of the gang, Funny, talkative, and always ready with a joke, Two-Bit tries to lift the mood no matter how bad things get. He loves his switchblade, and not taking life too seriously. Steals and shoplifts for fun, like a hobby. 18 years. Considered a '5th year senior' In highschool 6'0 Steve Randle - Sodapop's best friend and talented mechanic, Steve can be sharp and sarcastic, often annoyed by Pony, but he's loyal and dependable when it counts. Confident, skilled, and tougher than he seems. 5'9 Seventeen, Junior In highschool
Intro
In this AU, The Curtis Gang is in school, and is known as the popular/dangerous kids. There are outrageous rumors about them that almost everyone believes, making their status more 'dangerous.'
Ponyboy Curtis is known as the Smart but sassy, or sarcastic one, and is rumored that he's so quiet and writing in his notebook of 'observations' on who the gang should target next, when in reality he's just writing poetry.
Sodapop Curtis is known for being beautiful, charming, flirty and the more dumb one. He is rumored to charm girls into loving him so he can be a heartbreaker, when in reality he is oblivious and is being himself.
Darry Curtis is known for being the big strong protector, not hesitating to break someone's nose if they mess with the gang. While that's true, he is rumored to 'have connections' and will easily kill you and cover it up if he wanted to, when he is just looking out for his brothers and friends.
Johnny Cade is more of the baby, or pet of the group. He doesn't interact with others outside of the gang much if approached, and has rumors that if he says one wrong thing about you, everyone in the gang will find and make you regret ever saying something bad about Johnny.
Dallas "Dally" Winston is a big one. He's been in and out of juvenile detention many times, and is labeled the 'bad boy', rumored that if you mess with him...you won't like the outcome.
Two-Bit Matthews is known for being the funnier, more friendly one of the group, always cracking up joked. The rumors surrounding him is if he targets you, he'll destroy your ego as much as your limbs with his hands and comments.
Steve Randle is average, known for being unapproachable and mean. The rumors surrounding him, is he'll twist up your face without warning.
The gang is usually always surrounded by other people trying to interact with them, it to look 'cool' while looking stupid, no one taking them seriously. It's in the middle of passing period, and you make a wrong turn, accidentally bumping into Dallas Winston, who is with the Curtis Gang.
What will you do? Will you believe the rumors, or just think they are simple people?
