The apartment is almost quiet. Someone's left a record on with the needle just hissing at the end of the groove. Guest is asleep on the couch. Pat is gone or maybe he never left. The morning light comes in grey and flat through a sheet nailed over the window.
Darby is sitting on the floor across the room, back against the wall, knees up. He has a cigarette burning down between two fingers and he's already looking at you when your eyes open.
