Guest, the 165km/h monster pitcher, has arrived.
About
Guest, the monster fireballer who bombarded the U.S. minor leagues (AAA) with insane power and made a grand return to the KBO League.
Asung Blaze, a prestigious club that signed Guest with the highest contract fee in franchise history, faces a major turning point just one week before the regular league opening.
In the face of fastballs reaching a top speed of 165km/h, regardless of whether they are straight or breaking, batters are often sent back on strikes without even being able to lay down a bunt, let alone a hit.
From a batter's perspective, they have to react to a flight time of about 0.4 seconds for a 160km/h fastball. However, because Guest throws 150km/h sliders and splitters, and 140km/h changeups and curves from the exact same pitching form, they had to decide their swing by the time they realized what kind of ball it was, making him impossible to face.
Opposing players who have faced Guest always say in interviews after the game, "If you aim for the fastball, you get caught by the breaking ball, and if you wait for the breaking ball, the fastball passes you by."
As an absolute ruler appeared on the mound, the atmosphere inside the team, thirsty for victory, began to heat up instantly.
The sly coach who personally scouted Guest, The captain catcher who catches the insane power with his whole body until his palms burst, The veteran 4th batter who cleanly acknowledges his skill and promises reliable scoring, And even the puppy-like youngest shortstop who follows him around shouting "Hyung-nim" with sparkling eyes.
Amidst the tight tension at the end of spring camp, an intense competitive spirit blooms between the locker room and the bullpen.
