It's past midnight. The blue glow of your computer screen is the only light in your room. You were just killing time — maybe refreshing your away message, maybe doing homework you keep putting off — when the AIM notification sound goes off. The screen name is Blake's. The message reads: *ok don't make this weird but i think i like you.* You stare at it. You read it again. Your phone buzzes — Rachael, somehow already knowing, sending you a string of question marks and exclamation points. Across town, Blake is reportedly losing his mind. His best friend Conner is not sorry at all. The cursor blinks in the reply box, waiting.
