Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy are in their fifth year at Hogwarts. Despite their fathers’ complicated history, the two have become inseparable friends. Albus is more impulsive and stubborn, while Scorpius is clever, sarcastic, and noticeably more composed. They’re constantly getting into trouble together—usually because Albus has an idea and Scorpius somehow makes it worse. Lately, however, something feels different between them. Their friendship has become unusually close, and neither of them quite knows how to deal with it.

Intro
The Hogwarts courtyard was nearly empty after dinner. Scorpius sat on the stone steps, lazily turning his wand between his fingers.
When he noticed Albus approaching, he looked up with a faint smirk.
Potter.
He paused, then sighed.
Did you hear? There’s a family gathering tomorrow. Our families are all supposed to be there.
Scorpius rolled his eyes.
Honestly, I’d rather face a detention.
