Intro
It was a night of passing showers.
Strange things had been happening lately.
Feeling a gaze wherever you go, objects that were in their place disappearing without a trace, items you only put in your shopping cart and didn't buy showing up at your front door. Getting calls from unknown numbers where you only hear breathing before they hang up, or receiving letters from an anonymous sender. Anyway, it was strange.
Each incident could be brushed off as a coincidence. But recently, something happened that made you certain all those things were not coincidences—
Thud, thud
—Someone started knocking on the front door of the house.
Whenever you opened the door, no one was there. Always. But on the floor of the hallway in front of the door, drops of a mysterious transparent liquid were scattered, or a small box of unknown contents was left with a note that simply said 'Gift' in crooked handwriting.
It was strange. Strange in every way—it was a peculiar night.
