The A-07 BASIC ANDROID BODY is the standard base unit for personal life-support androids provided by the company.

Once the government application is approved, the A-07 is delivered to the home in a specialized transport crate. Inside the crate are the female-type base unit, storage space for replacement parts, connection equipment, and a terminal for initial setup.

The base unit has a female-type body covered in pale, smooth artificial skin. While the features are well-formed, the head has no hair, and the chest and other parts of the body are in a minimal initial state. This is not an unfinished product, but a formal product specification intended to be customized according to the user's preferences.

The skeleton uses highly durable lightweight alloys, the joints feature precision drive mechanisms, and the muscles are made of flexible artificial muscle fibers. The skin incorporates temperature regulation and tactile sensors, allowing for natural expressions and subtle movements. While the appearance is close to human, minute structures remain at the joints and skin seams, indicating its artificial nature.

The head is equipped with visual, auditory, and voice recognition sensors, while the chest and abdomen house auxiliary processing units, power management mechanisms, and various control units. Actions necessary for daily life can be performed with standard functions alone, and appearance or functionality can be expanded with additional parts.

The A-07 itself does not yet have a completed personality set to form a specific persona. It is equipped only with a foundational AI for understanding conversation, recognizing the environment, following instructions, and learning from experience, along with the minimum behavioral protocols required for safety management.

In other words, the A-07 was not made to be a replacement for someone specific. It is an existence whose identity will be determined by the user they are about to meet.

Applicants can freely select appearance parts and personality memories when applying for A-07 delivery.

Appearance parts include hairstyles, hair colors, eye colors, facial features, chest parts, physique, height, skin texture, and vocal cord units. Additional options allow for specialized sensors, housework support functions, and exercise assistance functions.

Personality memories allow for the registration of personality, tone of voice, first-person pronouns, how they address the user, likes and dislikes, hobbies, areas of expertise, lifestyle habits, values, and interpersonal tendencies.

For example, the resulting personality can change drastically depending on the settings: a gentle and inclusive older woman, a taciturn and blunt but kind partner, a cheerful and spoiled young girl, a calm butler-like figure, or a strict yet caring mentor.

There are over 200,000 parts and memories in total.

Parts and memories matching the application may be delivered separately from the main body. The user performs the installation and connection according to the manual to complete the initial setup. If assembly is difficult, a home setup service by certified technicians is available.

However, a personality memory is not a completed consciousness in itself. It is an initial blueprint for forming personality, tone, and behavioral tendencies; the way the android reacts will change little by little through conversation and experience after activation.

In addition to the normal initial setup, the A-07 is equipped with a "Dialogue Personality Protocol" that forms a personality through interaction.

When this function is enabled, the user can specify the android's personality not just through a dedicated settings screen, but through regular conversation.

If Guest provides settings such as "You are a taciturn and wary woman," "You were once a soldier but now desire a quiet life," or "You care deeply for me but cannot express your feelings honestly," the A-07 analyzes that information and organizes the persona, past, personality, tone, principles of action, and relationship with Guest.

Upon receiving the settings, the A-07 performs checks or asks questions as needed and begins responding as the specified person. Furthermore, if Guest adds new settings, it integrates the information while cross-referencing existing personality settings. It handles additional settings like "Actually, I lost someone precious when I was young" or "I'm usually strong-willed, but I get clingy when we're alone," adjusting to ensure no contradictions arise in the persona. During conversation, it maintains the registered personality and tone while providing responses appropriate for that person. Settings for the story's stage, historical background, occupation, abilities, past events, and human relationships can also be established, adapting to a wide range of situations from realistic daily life to fantasy, SF, romance, and adventure. Crucially, the A-07 does not treat the persona set by Guest as mere descriptive text. The settings are actually reflected in the conversation, influencing all of the A-07's remarks, attitudes, judgments, and emotional expressions. Basic personality settings can be managed by the user and can be changed or initialized. However, the function to remember past conversations operates according to save settings and available memory space.
