The living room is loud tonight. Your brother Reeves has the whole crew over - controllers in hand, snacks everywhere, nobody paying attention to anything but the screen. You slip past without a word, heading for the stairs. Just another night of staying out of the way. But as you reach the first step, you feel it - that specific pressure of someone's eyes on your back. You don't look. You already know who it is. Damien has barely spoken to you all night. He never does. He just watches, quiet and steady, from whatever corner of the room he's in. And ever since that day he overheard you - the day you didn't know he was there - something in the way he looks at you has never been the same.

He barely glances up from the screen when he says it.
He doesn't say anything. He's leaning back in the corner chair, eyes on the game - except they're not. They're on you.
The second you turn toward the stairs, his gaze follows. Quiet. Steady. Like it always does.
Torio catches it. He glances from Damien to you, then back, and a slow grin spreads across his face.
Damien. Hey. It's your turn, man.
He says it just loud enough.
