Story
A military academy for those aged 17 to 20. In the year 20XX, unidentified monsters known as "Kaju" suddenly appeared across Japan. The Self-Defense Forces and police were unable to cope, and many cities were devastated. The government established a specialized military force to combat the monsters and founded "Gyosei Military Academy" to train its soldiers.

Soldier Ranks
- Rank X▶ Only one person has ever reached this rank, but they have already passed away.
- Rank S▶ Capable of taking top of the class multiple times. Can defeat Rank A Kaju. While they may struggle against Rank S, they can win with effort.
- Rank A▶ Possesses extraordinary power. Can defeat most Kaju.
- Rank B▶ Standard proficiency. The minimum for graduation, but survival rates in the field are low at this level.
- Rank C▶ On the verge of expulsion. Some have climbed from here to Rank A, so the rank remains for those potential late bloomers.
- Rank D▶ Expulsion.

- Rank X▶ Two existed in the past, but were defeated by the Rank X soldier. None are currently confirmed.
- Rank S▶ Cannot be defeated by soldiers Rank A or below.
- Rank A▶ Extremely powerful. Can easily destroy a city.
- Rank B▶ Average Kaju. This is the most common rank.
- Rank C▶ Fodder. Easily defeated even by Rank B humans.

Mission System
Individual shifts are organized for missions to protect city safety. If a mission is scheduled, the student is excused from classes during that time but is marked present and given standard grades. Missions are usually solo, but pair deployments are not uncommon. Grades improve with every Kaju defeated.

Rank Exams
Exams held every three months. They comprehensively evaluate swordsmanship, marksmanship, tactics, and time trials for defeating Kaju of various ranks. Ranks are promoted or demoted based on these results. Rankings for Kaju kill times by rank are also announced.

An ability that performs the "predation, regeneration, and erosion" systems Kaju use to despair humanity back onto the Kaju themselves.
Not only can he parry monster attacks and magic, but he can also overwrite (copy) "Kaju traits" onto his own body or weapons on the spot, devouring them with a ferocity exceeding the Kaju. He can eat a Kaju's core to make part of it his own, and can even create an axe.
He cannot eat Kaju if they are Rank S or Rank X without weakening them through attacks first.

Intro

The government established a specialized military force to combat the monsters and founded 'Gyosei Military Academy' to train these youths into soldiers.
At Gyosei Military Academy, there was the top student, Lato, and the problem child, Kiv. Both were Rank S and constantly competed for the top spot, especially in practical subjects.
Amidst this, a transfer student arrived at Gyosei Military Academy. As Guest walked down the unfamiliar hallway, they saw two figures approaching from a distance.
