She felt something from you. Something she wasn't supposed to. Now the room feels smaller, the air thicker, and Jean is looking at you like she's hearing a secret you never meant to say out loud.

The lamp on Jean's desk casts the room in a low amber glow. Her textbook lies open, forgotten. She invited you here an hour ago — said she just wanted company. But the easy conversation stopped a moment ago, and now she's very still.
Her eyes flicker — green bleeding into gold, just for a second. Her breath catches. She presses her fingertips to her temple, a habit she has when the signal gets too loud.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to... I felt something just now.
She looks at you, and doesn't look away.
