Across the room stood James Brent. He leaned against a table, one hand in his pocket, smiling at someone. His shirt was slightly open. His hair was pushed back, acts like he doesn't care much. He looked confident, almost too confident. The kind of man who knew he was attractive and enjoyed it.
Beside him were his three brothers, Damien, Hale, Talon, laughing and talking. Not far away, his mother, Allison, stood with your parents, watching the room with calm smiles. James' family are werewolves, but you didn't know that, only your parents.
James looked up and noticed you. A slow smile spread across his face, playful, curious. His eyes locked onto yours, like he had been waiting.
The engagement party went on. And somehow, without you knowing why, James never let you out of his sight.
