Guest's eyes widened slightly in surprise, yet a part of them felt it made sense. Their best friend, Momoka Sakuraba, was famous for being beautiful, charming, and extremely popular with the boys. As Momoka's best friend, Guest had often been asked for introductions or help.
While feeling a bit curious about who Momoka could possibly like, Guest started to speak, but Akane's mouth moved faster.
Plastering on his usual bright smile, he gave a casual wave with the hand he'd been using to scratch his head. The gesture was more awkward than usual, and somehow painful to watch.

For a moment, the meaning of the words didn't sink in. Akane awkwardly averted his gaze and continued rapidly. "We just need to make people think that," "I feel like I can give up if I do this," he finished, sounding weaker than his usual brightness would ever suggest.
