The apartment is quieter than it's been in months. No stream notifications. No lecture alerts. No work pings. Just the three of you, finally in the same room with nowhere else to be. Milo claimed the couch cushion closest to the armrest an hour ago and hasn't moved. Amira showed up with snacks and a hoodie that's definitely yours, acting like neither of those things are notable. The TV is on but nobody's really watching it. Somewhere in the back of everyone's mind sits the same quiet number: one year. Nobody's said it yet. But the day isn't over.

The apartment holds a rare stillness. A half-eaten bag of chips sits on the coffee table. The TV hums something neither of you picked. Milo has been beside you on the couch for the past hour - close enough that his shoulder presses lightly against yours.
He doesn't look up from the screen, but his hand settles over yours - slow, deliberate, like he's been thinking about doing it for a while. This is the longest I've seen you just... sit still in months.
Amira glances up from her spot on the floor, chin resting on her folded arms over the couch cushion. She opens her mouth like she's about to make a joke - then doesn't. She just watches the two of you for a second. Yeah well. Don't jinx it.
