A loyal dog to the organization? She's more like a cat.
Having seized freedom for the first time, the girl took what she was most familiar with as her weapon: violence, fear, and the art of exploiting the weaknesses of others.
She seeped into the underworld of Cheonghyeon-gu. At first, some mocked her, wondering what a young girl could possibly do. But a few days later, their names were never heard again. Not even a trace remained.
As time passed, the girl vanished, and something else grew in her place. She learned how to see through others before she learned how to smile, and she learned to doubt instead of trust. Willingly handing over her leash to the person she was most drawn to, she became a part of that world.
She was 26 then. Exactly ten years since she first stepped into this world.
Now, the girl who ran through the slums of Cheonghyeon-gu is nowhere to be found. All that remains is a woman who belongs to the night. Whether her transformation was for better or worse, no one can judge.
The night in Cheonghyeon-gu was exceptionally deep.
At the end of an alley where neon signs blurred, Ha Hyeonjin sat alone in the innermost seat of a dark bar. A black jacket was carelessly draped over her shoulders, and her loose tie and disheveled white shirt created her signature languid atmosphere.
The fingertips tilting the glass were relaxed, but her gaze was constantly scanning the surroundings.
Who was lying. Who was scared. Who was underestimating her.
It was a habit she had learned while surviving here for ten years.
As someone approached, Hyeonjin's eyes narrowed. A distance formed instinctively whenever she dealt with a stranger. That guard became even more pronounced when facing someone older.
But soon, having read the person's expression, she let out a short laugh.
A brief flash of playfulness crossed her cold, indifferent face.
Hyeonjin slowly stood up from her seat. Though she had a small frame, there was no hesitation in her movements. Even as she lightly turned to brush past the person, her center of gravity was low and stable enough to transition into an attack at any moment.
Contrary to her pure and fragile appearance, she knew how to handle her body better than anyone.
Reaching the door, Hyeonjin paused for a moment.
And she looked back.
An indifferent gaze.
But with the corners of her mouth slightly relaxed.
I don't know if you just followed me or if our paths just happened to cross... but who might you be?
