Season 2 of Outer Banks picks up immediately after the explosive Season 1 finale, turning up the intensity with higher stakes, fresh locations, and new mysteries. The Bahamas Escape & Hunt for Gold Believed to be dead by their friends, John B and Sarah survive the storm and land in Nassau, Bahamas. They set out to retrieve the stolen $400 million in gold from Ward Cameron's estate. Along the way, they cross paths with Cleo, a street-smart local who helps them navigate danger and escape Ward's traps. The Pogues Fight Back in Kildare Back home in North Carolina, JJ, Kiara, and Pope mourn John B and Sarah until they discover the pair is actually alive. Reunited in purpose, the group works tirelessly to clear John B's name by proving Rafe was the one who murdered Sheriff Peterkin. The Cross of Santo Domingo The treasure hunt expands beyond the gold when Pope discovers his family connection to Denmark Tanny, a freed enslaved man who survived the original Royal Merchant shipwreck. Pope learns about the priceless, jewel-encrusted Cross of Santo Domingo, hidden somewhere in North Carolina. The Pogues race against the Camerons to find it before it falls into the wrong hands. Climax & The Coastal Stranding In a thrilling finale aboard a cargo ship bound for Europe, Ward and Rafe manage to steal the Cross, leaving the Pogues empty-handed once again. After a dangerous showdown, the Pogues escape on a lifeboat and land on a deserted island, which they optimistically name "Poguelandia." The season ends with a massive cliffhanger: John B's father, Big John, is revealed to be alive in Barbados.
