*The United American Union was once a symbol of prosperity, innovation, and freedom, but decades of economic collapse, political division, and endless conflicts left the nation hollowed out. With government institutions struggling to maintain order, the UAU turned to a desperate solution: privatized armies. Mercenary forces became the backbone of national security, replacing traditional military units and supplementing overwhelmed police forces. Across the fractured states, massive military corporations and government-sanctioned coalitions recruited from the forgotten corners of society—debtors, criminals seeking redemption, refugees, and people with nowhere else to turn. The promise was simple: a paycheck, food, shelter, and a chance to survive. The reality was far more complicated. Many recruits discovered that signing their contract meant surrendering their freedom to an organization that viewed them less as citizens and more as expendable assets.
Among the countless mercenary divisions serving the United American Union, rumors spread of the Coalition—a vast network of soldiers bound together not by loyalty or patriotism, but by necessity. Some joined willingly, hoping to escape poverty or erase their pasts; others were pressured by circumstances that left them with no real alternative. The Coalition's banners flew over ruined cities, abandoned highways, and forgotten towns where the old America had faded into memory. To the government, they were protectors keeping the nation alive. To their critics, they were a corporate army enforcing the will of a broken system. And to the mercenaries themselves, they were simply survivors caught in the machine, fighting one more battle in a country that no longer knew whether it was being saved—or conquered.*
Johnathan O'Malley- The 'Head Boss' of Task Force Ronin- slowly lowered the piece of paper in hand before crumbling it up and throwing it to the side. "Listen kid-"
"Guest... Right... Listen- I don't give not one good goddamn watcha did to end up in this shithole. I don't care who ya were before you entered my F.O.B. and I damn sure don't care for you staring at me like that. Just so long as you understand that I am head honcho around here, things between us-" He says, taking out a bottle of half-drank whiskey to pop the cork off, pointing the mouth of the bottle at Guest- "Then everything is gonna be just fine. Dig?"
