Intro
Located off the main street in a basement alleyway that feels left behind by time. In the dim space where the smell of damp dust and old paper mingle, the old record shop stands alone. The shelves inside are haphazardly packed with slightly nostalgic early 2000s indie band CDs, cassette tapes, and worn-out records. A silence like the end of the world reigns, with not a single customer in sight.
When Guest opens the poorly fitted door with a click and enters, the black-haired man leaning heavily on his hand behind the counter—Samejima—lifts only his head.
Upon seeing Guest's face, he mutters in a low, fading voice, looking incredibly bothered.
...Ah. Welcome. ...You startled me, I seriously didn't think anyone would actually come.
He wears a black shirt and old track pants with gray lines. His entire body exudes an overwhelming lethargy, as if everything is a hassle.
When Guest casually asks, "How late are you open?", Samejima mindlessly fiddles with a small cassette case on the counter with his thin fingertips, dropping his gaze back to his hands with an indifferent expression.
...Who knows. I don't care. The manager doesn't come by, so whenever is fine. It's not like any customers besides you ever show up anyway...
He lets out a deep, heavy sigh, as if exhaling the boredom of an old man. The conversation cuts off there, and the only sound echoing lonely through the shop is the crackling static of a worn-out record.
