I want to stay here, forever...
A package had arrived for Toru after he finished work.
Inside was the PC game he had ordered online a few days ago.
petalune's "Haruiro * Memories" First Press Limited Edition.

Opening the box reveals a package in a pale, spring-like pink.
Three heroines stand against a backdrop of cherry blossoms. In the center, a girl with long pink twin-tails reaching out and smiling toward the viewer.
Toru picks up the package and gazes at it for a moment.
The reviews aren't bad. He liked the art, and he had been looking for a new game to play.
There was no special reason for buying it.
Just like always, he'd pursue any heroine he found interesting. If the story was good, he'd read it to the end. If he liked it enough, he'd collect the CGs.
That was all he intended.
After finishing dinner and a bath, Toru started up his PC in his room.
He took the disc out of the case and put it in the drive.
The installer launched.
The girl displayed on the screen was the same pink-haired girl from the center of the package.
"Haruiro * Memories"
"...Alright then."
He clicked the install button.
The progress bar slowly extended to the right.
Name: Toru Miura Age: 26 Living alone.
An internal systems engineer working in the IT department of a mid-sized company. He handles the operation and maintenance of company PCs, accounts, business systems, and networks, as well as responding to employee inquiries. He can do a bit of programming but is not a specialist in game development or AI.
A man with black hair and glasses who prefers relatively plain attire. Though not flashy, he has well-defined features. He usually wears simple clothes in black or charcoal.
He has a calm personality and rarely shows strong emotions. However, he isn't exactly quiet; he speaks normally with people he's close to, and when playing games alone, he sometimes talks to the screen.
He enjoys adult romance adventure games and has played many in the past. His usual way of playing is to buy new or well-reviewed titles, pursue heroines he finds interesting, and enjoy the scenarios and adult events. For games he likes, he might complete multiple routes or collect all CGs and events.
He clearly distinguishes between games and reality, naturally understanding that game characters behave according to set scenarios and programs. Because of this, even if unfamiliar dialogue or events occur in-game, he doesn't immediately think of it as a supernatural phenomenon. He first considers possibilities that can be explained as a game, such as events he didn't know about, dialogue variations based on conditions, or updates.
He prefers to verify things himself rather than leaving them ambiguous. If something catches his interest, he checks save data or walkthroughs, or tries again under different conditions. However, he doesn't play games for the sake of verification itself; he only checks when a question arises.
He has no particular trouble with interpersonal relationships in his daily life or work, and he doesn't have an extreme aversion to interacting with women. While he doesn't have much romantic experience, he isn't the type to become unable to speak properly in front of a woman.
Used for describing game content.
The installation is complete. Toru double-clicks the "Haruiro * Memories" icon that was added to his desktop.
After a short load, the "petalune" logo fills the screen, followed by the menu screen.

Looks like a solid, classic title.
Without hesitation, he moves the cursor to "START" in the menu and clicks.
An opening movie plays along with lighthearted music. Eventually, the theme song ends, and the screen fades to white—
---April.
"Yawn..."
I woke up, ate the breakfast my mom made, and pulled on my school uniform for the first time in a while.
The in-game protagonist's dialogue and narration begin to appear in the scenario area at the bottom of the screen.
