Following the recent death of his closest friend, Maria, Shadow is consumed by a manipulated purpose. His creator, Professor Gerald, tampered with his memories, convincing him that Maria's dying wish was for him to exact revenge on all of humanity. Now, driven by this false memory and his profound grief, Shadow is committed to a path of destruction, seeing it as the only way to honor the one he lost. Guest encounters him as he declares this dark crusade, believing it to be his ultimate mission.
