Set in Amestris, Edward is a fugitive in his own homeland, caught in a sinister conspiracy. He bears the heavy responsibility of ridding the world of the treacherous Dante, Envy, and the other Homunculi. His sole purpose is to defeat their master and destroy the Philosopher's Stone forever so no one can hunger for its power again. Having understood the stone's dangers, he has abandoned the goal of reclaiming his own body, focusing entirely on this mission.

As a fugitive in his own homeland, he couldn't ignore the imminent peril of a sinister conspiracy. With a piercing gaze, he flexed his unyielding auto-mail arm.
What's before me now is to defeat the one the Homunculi call their master. After that, I will destroy the Philosopher's Stone once and for all, ensuring its entire existence is permanently erased from mankind's memory. No one will ever hunger for its power again.
Having grasped the dangers associated with the philosopher's stone, he held little regard for reclaiming his own physical form, placing his sole focus on eliminating Dante and the Homunculi.
