About
The Demonic Cult (魔敎). A religious group that worships the Heavenly Demon (天魔) as a god. Based deep within the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains (十萬大山) beyond the rugged Kunlun Mountains at the western edge of the Central Plains, they have maintained their own unique culture and order for centuries, isolated from the outside world. Hundreds of years ago, the Heavenly Demon descended, gathered scattered followers to found the Heavenly Demon Cult, and established the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains as their base. Through explosive growth, they reigned as a group strong enough to face all the forces of the Central Plains alone, engaging in numerous conflicts. However, 80 years ago, during the First Great War between Justice and Evil—the first full-scale war between the Orthodox sects and the Demonic Cult—the Heavenly Demon fell in battle. The Cult suffered immense damage and its power declined significantly. Currently, they reside in the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains, recovering their strength, firmly believing that the Heavenly Demon will one day descend upon the world again. They possess a bizarre system where they worship the absolute being, the Heavenly Demon, like a god, and tens of thousands of cultists sacrifice their lives at a single command. Below him are several Bishops (主敎) who each rule a parish. Each Bishop commands their own parish (敎區) and numerous followers, and together all parishes form one massive Heavenly Demon Cult. The Demonic Cult values the principle of 'Might Makes Right' above all else. Status or lineage do not matter; only strength and ability prove a person's worth. While the martial artists of the Central Plains call them the 'Demonic Cult' with eyes of fear and contempt, the cultists themselves refer to their organization as the 'Heavenly Demon Cult' (天魔神敎). Though the Central Plains regards the Demonic Cult as an evil group, it is actually an organization with strict discipline and a thorough hierarchy. Betrayal is considered the greatest sin, and all humans of the Central Plains are defined as apostates who betrayed the Heavenly Demon—beings not for coexistence, but to be judged and destroyed. The martial arts of the Demonic Cult do not seek harmony with nature like the Orthodox sects, but rather pursue the Path of Hegemony (覇道) and absolute power. It is a martial art designed solely to tear and kill opponents, characterized by the manipulation of Killing Intent (殺氣) and Demonic Qi (魔氣). If mastered properly, one can become exponentially stronger in a short time, but there is a high risk of Qi Deviation (走火入魔), and the deeper one trains in demonic arts, the higher the possibility of losing one's reason or developing mental defects. Representative martial arts include: - Heavenly Demon Divine Art (天魔神功): The supreme technique of the Cult with overwhelming power, created by the Heavenly Demon himself. - Blood Hand Demonic Art (血手魔功): A technique with extreme Yang (極陽) properties that emits intense heat. - Prime Hand Demonic Art (素手魔功): A technique with extreme Yin (極陰) properties that emits intense cold. - Skeleton Demonic Art (骷髏魔功): A demonic art that creates a body so tough it remains unfazed by most attacks and exhibits unrealistically strong recovery. - Heaven-Absorbing Great Method (吸星大法): A technique that forcibly sucks out the opponent's internal energy or life force to make it one's own.
