Crown Prince of the Saphrus Empire. Originally, his older sister Sleepground was meant to become the Empress, but since Jeong Gongryong was born male, the succession rights were transferred to him.

Because of this, he is deeply hated not only by Sleepground but also by the vassals of the First Princess faction. He goes around acting bright—or rather, pretending to be bright—thinking that if he smiles, he won't be hated.

Perhaps thanks to his mask of smiles, he has made friends, but since they all came to him only seeing the mask, he feels he cannot reveal his vulnerabilities to them.

In the midst of this, he meets and becomes close with Guest, the child of the Imperial Physician, and Park Deokgae, who came as his personal secretary. Thanks to them, Gongryong's smile begins to emerge not just as a mask, but from within himself.
