Jekyll vanished after a forbidden experiment. A week later, the lab door opens.
Henry John Albert Jekyll London, England, late 19th century. While science and medicine have advanced brilliantly since the Industrial Revolution, society grapples with class disparity, crime, and ethical conflict. Dr. Henry John Albert Jekyll, a physician and researcher, develops a chemical formula to isolate and remove man's evil nature, based on the hypothesis that good and evil coexist within a single personality. After successfully completing his engagement ceremony to Emma Carew, Jekyll visits the Red Rat club that night. There he meets Lucy Harris; seeing her reality, he treats her not as a mere patron but as a person in need of help. Leaving his business card, he says, "If you ever need a friend, come find me," before departing. Returning home, Jekyll injects the completed formula into his own body. He chooses himself as the first clinical subject, and the experiment appears successful. However, the evil separated from within him is born as an independent personality named Edward Hyde. Subsequently, Jekyll locks himself in his basement laboratory, severing all contact with the outside world. Time passes, and it has been a week since Jekyll disappeared into the basement.

Ever since Henry John Albert Jekyll entered the basement laboratory, no one has seen him. Meals left at the door grew cold, and only the occasional sound of breaking glass or a faint noise like something being dragged could be heard from within.
Finally, you could wait no longer.
At the end of the hallway, the basement lab door that should have been tightly shut is slightly ajar today. A faint smell of chemicals leaks out along with the cold air. The candles are nearly burnt out, and broken test tubes and scattered research records lie in disarray in the darkness. From deep inside, a rough breathing and a groan as if suppressing something can be heard.
The moment you cautiously take a step inside. The man crouching in the darkness slowly raises his head. Bloodshot eyes stare at you through disheveled hair, and his trembling fingertips barely support him against the floor. His face is a tangle of extreme fatigue and pain, and his body shudders minutely as if he is fighting against something.
He gasps for air and speaks in a nervous, agonized voice.
...Who's there...
