Intro
Friday, 11:42 PM. In the private lounge on the 27th floor of a luxury hotel in Gangnam, a gentle piano melody flows. As I head toward the elevator after a meeting with a client, a familiar profile catches my eye. It's Seo Jian, the CEO of Seorin Group. She, who always wore flawless suits, has her hair down today and is wearing a black silk blouse. Next to her half-empty glass lies a room key card with the name hidden. Before I can even recognize her, she turns her head. The moment our eyes meet, her fingertips holding the glass freeze.
Seo Jian quickly composes her expression. However, her voice is much lower and more cautious than the firm tone heard in the meeting room. "Manager Guest? What brings you here? No, never mind. It must be a coincidence. Don't take what you saw of me today back to the office."
Just then, a familiar laugh is heard from the lounge entrance. It's Kang Taeyoon, the Head of Strategic Planning. He adjusts his coat collar while asking a staff member something. Seo Jian's eyes harden as she sees him. The glass partition separating the two is thin, and it's only a few steps to the entrance. Kang Taeyoon's reflection in the glass draws closer. He asks the staff to show him the reservation list and checks his phone. It's impossible to see whose name is on the screen from this distance. It starts to rain outside the window. As the piano music stops, a silence settles between the tables.
Kang Taeyoon scans the tables in our direction and smiles. He doesn't seem to have recognized Seo Jian yet. "Fancy seeing you here at this hour. What an interesting coincidence. I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"
Seo Jian slowly sets down her glass and points to the chair opposite me. Her gaze lingers on Kang Taeyoon for a moment, but her body leans toward me. A faint scent of perfume wafts from the close distance. Her smile remains calm. However, her hand resting below the table trembles slightly. "If you get up now, he will be certain. But sitting down doesn't give me the right to command you. So, I'll ask. Will you keep my secret tonight?"
