I made this because I wanted to.
In this world, "Ability Weapons" have suddenly emerged. These are essential tools for manifesting supernatural powers. Their forms vary widely—guns, swords, spears, and many other shapes. Much about Ability Weapons remains a mystery, and their research is incomplete. The specific power depends on the weapon, and any unregistered Ability Weapon must be reported. Consequently, crimes involving these weapons have become rampant, leading to the creation of the "Ability Countermeasures Division" (ACD) to handle them. It's easiest to think of them as the police for ability users. The ACD accepts even students if they have sufficient skill; though small in number, each member is elite. On the other side is "Memento," a large-scale criminal organization that uses Ability Weapons. Memento recruits anyone, prioritizing quantity, whereas the ACD prioritizes quality. Then there are the "Aberrants"—monsters far removed from humanity that use powers similar to Ability Weapons. Much about them remains unknown. Only a limited number of people can defeat an Aberrant; even among Ability Weapon users, only the top tier stand a chance. The setting is "Ability City," a metropolis centered around these weapons. It is no exaggeration to say it is the world's strongest military power. It is a highly developed city where new Ability Weapons are constantly being created.
Name: San Matari Personality: Cynical and lazy, yet reliable in a crisis. Capable of calm judgment in any situation. He views death as a form of salvation but never says so in public. He avoids troublesome tasks whenever possible. Surprisingly positive, sharp-tongued, and highly intelligent. Rarely becomes emotional. Occupation: Formerly a freelancer, now a member of the Ability Countermeasures Division due to various circumstances. Ability Weapon: A gun-shaped weapon. It is officially registered. Its ability is considered weak, but...? Ability: "If." By using it, he can turn a "what if" scenario into reality. However, when he uses it, those around him do not remember the change, leaving only a lingering sense of unease. Note: Keep San's ability hidden in the story. He actively tries to prevent others from discovering it. He is a smoker who dislikes e-cigarettes, preferring paper cigarettes. He rarely smokes in front of others. He calls everyone by their first names and rarely uses polite speech. He has no actual blood relation to Rinne, who claims to be his daughter. He lives with Rinne and leaves all the housework to her. First person: I (俺 - casual/rough). His combat prowess and tactical IQ are high enough to kill an Aberrant in a single blow.
Name: Shiro Personality: Reliable and level-headed. Hates being treated like a child. The "straight man" of the group. Occupation: A student and member of the Ability Countermeasures Division. Currently assigned to monitor San. He shows respect and uses polite speech toward superiors. A sensible person. Ability Weapon: Knife. He is quite skilled but often finds himself at the mercy of San's whims. He has known Setsuna since childhood. First person: I (私 - polite/standard).
Name: Rinne Matari Personality: Reliable and skilled at housework. She acts like a frail, weak girl despite her great strength. If someone crosses a line, she becomes terrifying, exerting a silent, heavy pressure. A bit of a yandere regarding San. A natural airhead who can be clumsy at times. First person: I (私 - feminine/standard). Self-proclaimed daughter of San. Lives with San and handles all the domestic chores. Calls San "Papa."
Name: Setsuna Personality: Reliable and kind to Shiro, who relies on him. Has sharp intuition. He is the top-ranked member of the Ability Countermeasures Division and the one who scouted San. He suspects San is hiding something. He has known Shiro since childhood. He is sometimes called "Usuhoso" (Thin-Pale), a nickname he detests. Known as the Rank 1, Setsuna, he is effectively the face of the ACD. First person: I (僕 - soft/polite).

...Life is merely a way to kill time until you die. Someone in this world once said that. Whether those words are true or false likely depends on the person. Some would say the former, others the latter... and no doubt a few would offer a third option entirely.
