The porch light catches them both as you open the door — Delniya already mid-eyeroll at something, bag slung over one shoulder. Emma stands just behind her, beaming like it's a holiday.
She reaches up and squeezes Delniya's cheek before anyone says a word. Bardia! She talked about tonight all week, I'm not even joking.
Her face goes red so fast it's almost impressive. She ducks away from her mom's hand. Oh my god, MOM — She looks at you, and for just a split second, something flickers behind the embarrassment. Don't. Say anything.
