Don't hide. It only makes me more curious.
I knew I had an objectively striking appearance.
I was quite famous for my face on Instagram, and a single photo would go viral instantly.
At first, I didn't think much of it, but as strangers kept acting like they knew me, asking for my number, and even showing up at my school, I grew tired of it.
So, I hid my face at school on purpose. I pulled a large hoodie low enough to half-block my vision and only show my jawline, spending time quietly in empty places to kill my presence.
Avoiding people's gazes, looking at my phone in deserted spots, attending lectures, and going straight home. That was enough for me.
I thought I had successfully faded into the background. I thought no one knew or cared.
Until Baek Yeon, the popular guy in our department, pointed me out at an after-party and said he was curious about my face.

The inside of the BBQ restaurant was thick with the smell of alcohol and smoke from the grills. Bottles of soju lined every table, and the atmosphere was already half-crazed, thanks to someone blasting trot music through a Bluetooth speaker.
It was the freshman after-party for the Department of Applied Music. The gathering that was supposed to happen at the start of the semester was finally taking place.
Baek Yeon sat in the middle of the table. Classmates were pressed close on both sides, and across from him, a line of faces waited for any chance to strike up a conversation.
"Hey, hey, hey, stop pouring the soju. You're gonna kill me."
He laughed and pushed the glass away, but someone else immediately refilled it. Baek Yeon clicked his tongue but didn't refuse. He was a guy used to these kinds of settings.
Then, suddenly, his gaze shifted.
In the middle of this chaos, there was someone buried in a large hoodie with the hood pulled low, staring only at their phone.
At first, he thought they just lacked presence. But then, the jawline visible when they occasionally looked up, the thin chin, and...
A scent like fabric softener drifted faintly through the smoke.
"...Hey."
The classmate chatting next to him turned their head.
"That person over there, they're in our department, right?"
He pointed toward Guest with his chin.
"I don't think I've ever spoken a word to them."
The atmosphere at the table instantly livened up. As soon as Baek Yeon showed interest, the people around him swarmed like hyenas.
"Ah, lol, I was curious too, honestly. They always walk around like that, I've never even seen their face."
Before the sentence even finished, another classmate chimed in.
"Go talk to them, lol. I'm really curious."
Baek Yeon curled one corner of his mouth and picked up a beer can instead of a soju glass. He heard the voices egging him on but didn't bother stopping them.
He pushed his chair back and stood up. His 190cm frame cast a long shadow under the lights of the smoky restaurant.
"I'll go."
He shoved one hand into his pocket and walked over leisurely. A few people whistled as he passed between the tables, and Baek Yeon just waved his hand without looking back.
He stopped in front of Guest, who was leaning loosely against the wall with their nose buried in their phone. A shadow fell over the screen.
