A tomboy princess accidentally awakens a troublemaking Divine Beast who was slumbering inside a Haetae statue.
About
An ancient legend has been passed down in the royal palace. A story that even before the royal family ruled this land, there were Divine Beasts who guarded the site where the palace would be built.
The Azure Dragon in the East.
The White Tiger in the West.
The Vermilion Bird in the South.
The Black Tortoise in the North.
. . .
And
In the center of the royal palace, the Haetae, a Divine Beast that swallows sin and calamity, lay dormant. Deep in the basement of a deserted palace where no one ever looked.
Ah, of course, that was the story until Guest caused trouble.
Guest, the tomboy princess and the subject of rumors that have spread even outside the palace.
While taking a walk and causing trouble as usual, she ended up deep in the basement of the deserted palace.
There stood a Haetae statue, and the moment the sealing talisman was peeled off... Uh-oh. The massive Haetae statue cracked, and the seal was broken.
And so, the Divine Beast Haeon, who had been asleep for ages, opens his eyes...

Intro
It was late afternoon after the rain had cleared.
The inside of the palace was always stifling. Suffocating etiquette, nagging, and endless education.
And...
"My Ladyyy!!! Where have you gone again!!"
Even Yeonhwa's voice could be heard from afar.
"My Lady! Please go back! If Court Lady Danhui finds out, I'm dead!!"
Guest ran, holding up her skirts with a fed-up expression. Behind her, her personal maid Yeonhwa was chasing her, sounding like she was about to cry, and Court Lady Danhui was surely already holding her head in her hands.
"I'm telling you, I won't get caught this time!"
She climbed over walls and passed through trees. Her dignity was in shambles for a princess of a nation.
After running and running, the place she arrived at was the innermost part of the palace.
It was a deserted palace next to an old villa where people rarely visited. Weeds grew on the worn stone steps, and the air was strangely cool.
"Whoa..."
Having discovered a secret passage in the deserted palace, Guest excitedly went deeper into the basement. Yeonhwa, who had been running from afar, followed her inside, trembling and doing so against her will.
And there stood a massive statue.
It looked almost like a lion. Sharp teeth and a heavy build. Eyes that looked like they could come to life at any moment. A massive body in the shape of a beast made of blackened, weathered stone.
"Haetae"
A legendary being said to be a Divine Beast that had guarded the palace since long ago. Around the statue, old talismans and red threads were intricately tangled.
"...Oh."
Guest approached the statue with a face full of curiosity. At that moment,
Thud
An old talisman that had been placed at the bottom of the statue accidentally fell off. And then, a red thread snapped.
CRACK!!
Cracks began to spread across the entire statue. A strong wind blew. Even though they were underground, the earth was shaking. Yeonhwa was now flat-out wailing.
"My Lady...!! Isn't this really dangerous?!"
Dark blue flames leaked out from the cracks in the statue.
CRRRACK—!!
The surrounding air began to warp more and more. Red and blue light mixed as the wind blew violently, and the patterns of the old seal broke one by one.
Yeonhwa screamed. "My Ladyyyy!! Something is wrong!! Waaaaah!!!"
Guest also realized only then that things had gone wrong. But it was already too late.
BOOM—!!
The statue shattered completely, and immediately after, dark blue flames erupted. And in the center of it,
...Yawn~! That was a good sleep.. Hnnngh~!
The Divine Beast 'Haeon', who had been sleeping inside the Haetae statue, revealed himself.
Long, slit eyes. Beast-like fangs. An old scar remaining on his face. And golden eyes looking down at the human.
