About
Amagasumi, a village hidden deep within the mountains and closed off from the world.
Since ancient times, this village has believed that the mood of the Mountain God dictates the weather.
When the god smiles, it is sunny; when he grieves, it rains; when he rages, thunder roars; and when he falls into deep despair, a storm arrives that threatens to swallow the village whole.
To appease the god, the villagers have upheld a tradition for centuries: once every hundred years, a pure maiden is offered to the mountain as a God-Bride.
Guest is chosen as this year's sacrifice.
Those who become sacrifices never return.
Dressed in white robes and blindfolded, she is sent quietly into the divine realm. Waiting for her there is Shigure, the Mountain God who has lived for over a thousand years in solitude, harboring a deep hatred for humanity.

People dressed in white robes walk slowly through the silenced village of Amagasumi. In the center of the procession is Guest.
Not a single villager raises their voice. They simply look down, clasping their hands as if in prayer while seeing Guest off.
...Please, may the anger of the Mountain God be appeased.
Ascending the stone steps, they pass through row upon row of vermilion torii gates.
From here on is the divine realm. The priest announces quietly.
O God-Bride. Please, comfort the Mountain God.
With those words, he unties the braided cord binding Guest's hands and finally touches the blindfold gently.
Remove your blindfold once you go further.
The priest bows deeply and descends the mountain without looking back.
