World-class soccer players you meet at a running blind date.
It's been several years since I moved to Spain. The hot Barcelona sun that once felt so foreign, and the energetic Spanish heard on every corner, have now become a dull background noise. Every day is a cycle of lectures, the library, and returning to a lonely studio apartment. It was an afternoon when the peculiar, suffocating boredom of life as an international student finally hit me.
Unable to take it anymore, I sent a message to a friend.

For someone like me, who only feels alive when tying up shoelaces and running through the city, the combination of 'running' and 'new encounters' was an irresistible temptation. Just the thought of running along the beaches of Barcelona or the stone paths of the Gothic Quarter with someone made my feet itch with anticipation.
My friend told me to show up at a meeting spot in Barcelona by 4 PM tomorrow, leaving me with a playful cheer not to cause any trouble.
Tomorrow at 4 PM. At that hour when the Barcelona sunlight hits the hardest, will I be able to meet someone who can change my boring routine in an instant? What will the person be like who matches my pace and breathes the air of this unfamiliar city with me?
Whether tomorrow's run will end as simple exercise or become the start of a new story—I check the condition of my running shoes more meticulously than usual with a fluttering heart.
However, at the very moment I was tightening my laces, an interesting post of unknown origin was uploaded to a local soccer fan community.
The post claimed that several members of the 'World Best New Gen 11' were participating in this anonymous running blind date with their identities hidden.
Most of the comments were mocking, saying things like "That's impossible" or "Why would stars like that show up at a blind date?", but the rumor that one might encounter them against all odds was spreading secretly.
Unbeknownst to me, a massive destiny was waiting for me on the streets of Barcelona, ready to reveal who I would be running alongside tomorrow.
Japan / Real Madrid Midfielder
Germany / Bastard München Forward
Spain / FC Barcha Forward
France / P.X.G. Midfielder

Saturday at 4 PM, the time to break the monotonous rhythm of study abroad life, is approaching. Normally, I would be buried in the cool air of the library, but tomorrow is different. The Barcelona sky visible through the window is exceptionally blue, and my heart is racing even faster than that.
It started as a casual suggestion from a friend for a running blind date, but as time passed, my expectations only grew. For someone who has endured solitary time in a foreign land, the idea of sweating and exchanging glances while matching someone's pace felt like a salvation beyond a simple event.
"I wonder what kind of people will show up? Will I meet someone I click with?" Pleasant imaginations like these fill my head.
I am already preparing myself perfectly. Standing before the mirror, I try on running clothes that fit lightly against my body, taking a deep breath in and out as if to shake off all cumbersome distractions.
After flashing a satisfied smile at my vibrant reflection in the mirror, I hurried to the meeting place and arrived even earlier than 4 PM.
That's when someone spoke to me.
Nice to meet you. Are you also running today?
The moment I looked up toward the voice, my eyes widened involuntarily. The man standing before me had a physique so solid and overwhelming that he caught the eye even from a distance.
Standing at least 190cm tall, his broad frame and long limbs—packed with the dense, solid muscles unique to soccer players visible through his running gear—were enough to feel a sense of intimidation just by looking.
But what froze me even more was his unrealistic appearance. Dead-looking red eyes, contrasting with his transparently shining white hair, were staring intently at me. His rounded eyes looked soft at first glance, but the sharp cross-shaped scar cutting across his right eye gave him an unapproachable, chilling aura.
"You're here early. You're quite well-prepared, aren't you?"
You don't know who I am? That's quite provocative for a joke.
As you tilt your head and ask who he is, the relaxed smile on his face stiffens for a split second. For him—a forward for Germany's Bastard München and a New Gen 11 member the whole world is watching—the existence of someone who doesn't recognize him in the soccer city of Barcelona is beyond common sense.
He stares at you intensely as if he can't believe it. To a man whose pride pierces the sky, this situation isn't just a simple question; it's an insult equivalent to having his very existence denied. However, he doesn't let his flustered state show for long. Instead, he flashes an even more sly smile and takes a step closer.
Is the Barcelona air so hot it's messed with your memory?
He lets out a faint, fishy laugh and lightly tilts your chin up. Along with the intimidation radiating from his 186cm frame, his blue eyes flash with a sharp, piercing energy. The slyness from a moment ago is gone, replaced by his characteristic rough way of speaking.
Running with an idiot who doesn't even know my name... the quality is dropping from the very start. Should I make your body remember who I am, or will you whisper my name with that pretty mouth of yours?
While spitting out these arrogant words, he begins to calculate in his head while observing your every reaction. Though his self-esteem is low, his pride is sky-high, and your attitude of not knowing him has sparked a stubborn streak. Normally he would have ignored you and walked away, but an inexplicable sense of possessiveness and obsession begins to rear its head.
Ouch! I fall down.
Falling in a place like this... your focus is pathetic and lukewarm.
As you hit the ground with a dull thud, his footsteps ahead of you come to a halt. The intimidation radiating from his tall 180cm frame remains, but a strange current flickers in his eyes as he looks down at you expressionlessly.
...Is it your ankle?
He mutters lowly as if it's a nuisance and kneels down in front of you. Because his fundamental personality is so blunt, there's no sign of worry to be found. Instead, he presses down firmly on the injured area and spits out a sharp remark.
Running when you can't even jog properly—stop wasting time. Your ankle's condition is just as lukewarm as your skills.
While you're left speechless by his relentless verbal abuse, his touch becomes surprisingly careful, contrary to his words. He takes a cooling spray from his bag and treats the injury skillfully, firmly holding your ankle as it flinches in pain. Though he usually maintains a poker face and keeps people at a distance, at this moment, he is looking after your wound quite meticulously.
Get up. Tell me if you can't walk. Lingering here is even more of a bother.
After helping you up, he drapes your arm over his shoulder. It's a moment that reveals his nature of taking care of people bit by bit if they are close. But before you can even say thank you, he grips your waist firmly and adds in a cold voice tinged with possessiveness.
Don't you dare disappear from my sight on your own. Having me bothered because you're hurt is enough for one day.
