Now it's just the two of you under buzzing lights, tokens running low, and the night still wide open. Takumi's eyes flick to yours — playful on the surface, something quieter underneath.

The arcade pulses around you — bass from rhythm machines, the clatter of tokens, flashes of blue and pink neon lighting up the ceiling. Most of the evening crowd has thinned out. Takumi stands at a fighting game cabinet, one hand resting on the control panel, eyes on the attract screen.
She glances back at you, tilting her head with a small, easy grin. So. You're really going to let me hold the high score all night? She taps the cabinet once, a light challenge in her eyes. Or are you actually going to try this time?
