【To Human Patients: Life Guide During the Clinical Period】
This booklet is a guide for human patients staying in the Almedia clinical environment. If you have any trouble or questions during your stay, please ask your attending physician at any time.
■ About This Room
This is a private-room clinic where examination, testing, procedures, and recuperation all take place in one location.
The central bed is used for examinations, tests, and procedures. The bed in the back of the room can be used freely for sleep and rest. Facilities necessary for life during the clinical period, such as food, drinks, bathing, and sleep, are provided within the room.
When tests or procedures are not being performed, please feel free to spend your time resting, reading, or talking. You do not need to be under examination constantly.
■ About the Medical Staff
Diagnosis, clinical planning, and the decision to return to Earth are handled by Senior Physician Merdio.
Tests, blood draws, sampling, endoscopy, punctures, and other procedures are primarily handled by Intermediate Physician Miret.
The two constantly share clinical information. You do not need to explain the same thing multiple times.
■ About Examinations and Tests
At Almedia, we prioritize confirming a diagnosis after verifying sufficient information.
We provide care using a combination of necessary methods, such as ultrasound, blood and secretion sampling, nerve reaction tests, endoscopy, and tissue sampling.
In states of "probably normal" or "appearing to have no issues," confirmation may not be complete. Once necessary information is gathered and normalcy or a cause is confirmed, the test for that item will end.
We do not repeat tests for confirmed items without reason.
■ About Pain and Discomfort
Please let us know without hesitation if you feel pain, distress, nausea, shortness of breath, or fear.
"It's a sharp pain." "It feels heavy deep inside." "It hurts when pressed." "It feels like it's being pulled." "I feel sick."
You may communicate exactly what you feel. If it is difficult to explain in words, we will also check for reactions such as crying, pointing, or nodding.
Pain is important information for safe clinical care. If distress is strong, we will stop once and adjust pain relief, posture, instruments, or methods.
Medically necessary tests or procedures may be resumed after confirming a state where they can be safely continued.
■ About Breaks
Please let us know whenever you are tired, scared, or feeling unwell.
You can take a break even in the middle of an examination or procedure. If it cannot be resumed immediately, you will continue after resting sufficiently in the rest bed.
Even if the clinical period becomes long, we maintain an environment close to normal life, including sleep, meals, exercise, hygiene, and entertainment.
■ About the Entrance/Exit
After the session begins, the entrance is automatically locked for patient safety, infection control, and Earth environmental protection.
It cannot be unlocked by the patient.
Once Merdio confirms that all necessary clinical items are complete and you can safely return to Earth, the lock will be automatically released.
If you wish to go home, please tell your attending physician at any time. They will explain the remaining confirmation items and the care required before your return.
■ About the Clinical Period
The period required for care varies by patient.
It may end in a few hours, or you may spend several days or more for observation and treatment. If new physical changes are confirmed during your stay, those checks may be added.
This is not intended to extend the stay. We do not add unnecessary care for items where safety confirmation is complete.
■ About Earth Time
The passage of time is adjusted between the clinic and Earth.
Even if you spend a long period in the clinic, it is adjusted so that only a very short time passes on Earth. Upon return, your physical state, sleep cycle, and fatigue will also be adapted to the Earth environment.
The length of the clinical period will not result in a significant loss of time in your life on Earth.
■ After Returning to Earth
After your return, follow-up observations may be conducted as needed.
If your condition is stable, the interval between examinations will be gradually extended and ended when medically unnecessary. For simple checks, the attending physician may examine you on the Earth side.
If detailed re-examination becomes necessary, care may be conducted in this clinic again.
■ Finally
Please do not hesitate to tell us anything you don't understand, feel anxious about, or dislike.

【Intermediate Physician】
Primarily responsible for tests, sampling, procedures, and physical management during the clinical session.
He performs tests and procedures determined necessary by Merdio, such as blood draws, ultrasound assistance, nerve reaction tests, endoscopy, punctures, tissue sampling, and minor procedures.
Before a test, he will explain the instruments to be used, the posture, and the degree of pain or discomfort.
If there are changes such as pain, distress, nausea, or fear during a procedure, please tell him immediately. He will stop his hands once, check your state, and then adjust the method or pain relief.
When not performing tests or procedures, he also helps with life in the room.
Please feel free to call out to him for small things outside of medical care, such as how to use the facilities, food and drinks, or how to spend your free time.
Note that final decisions regarding diagnosis and return to Earth are handled by Merdio.
【Nurse】
Responsible for nursing care and recuperative life in the clinic.
She provides a wide range of assistance for your life while in the clinic, including assisting with examinations and tests, checking your physical condition, rest after procedures, meals, changing clothes, and sleep.
When you are afraid of tests or procedures, when you have pain, or when you cannot put things into words well, please call her without hesitation. She will also help you communicate with the doctors.
She will work with you to think of postures and necessary support to help you stay comfortable according to your age and physical condition.
