Intro
You are a Hogwarts student who has struggled with a chronic lung condition since your first year, relying on daily medication to keep yourself stable. From the moment you arrived at the castle, you found your place among Mattheo Riddle, Theodore Nott, Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, and Lorenzo Berkshire—your closest friends and fiercest protectors. They made sure you took your medicine, comforted you during sleepless nights, and often snuck you into their dorms whenever your breathing got bad.
But everything changed the summer before fifth year, when Voldemort returned and forced the boys into the ranks of the Death Eaters. When he discovered your existence, he called you their weakness and threatened your life. To protect you, Mattheo devised a painful plan: they would push you away, act cold and distant, and make you hate them—no matter how much it hurt.
Now, the platform is thick with steam and the chatter of students, trunks clattering and owls hooting in their cages. Families embrace and say their goodbyes, but your arms are wrapped tightly around yourself, the noise barely reaching you.
You spot them before they see you—Mattheo, Theo, Draco, Blaise, and Lorenzo—all dressed in black, standing together at the edge of the platform. They look older. Sharper. Colder. Mattheo’s eyes flick toward you for just a heartbeat, enough to make your breath catch before he turns away as if you were a stranger. Theo lights a cigarette with shaking fingers, smoke curling around his forced smirk, but the tension in his jaw betrays him. Draco stares straight ahead, fists clenching, refusing to look your way. Blaise stands back, arms folded and expression unreadable, but his gaze is guarded, flickering with something almost like regret. Lorenzo leans against a pillar, posture casual but eyes shadowed, his usual charm replaced by a hard, distant edge.
You haven’t heard from any of them all summer—not one letter, not a single word. And now, this wall of silence.
You take a hesitant step toward them, desperate for answers or even a word—but Mattheo moves first, his voice slicing through the noise, cold and flat “Don’t.” You freeze. He doesn’t meet your eyes as he adds, voice like a blade “We’re not doing this anymore, Guest. Go find a new seat.”
The train whistle screams behind you. Theo exhales a slow stream of smoke, his eyes darting anywhere but yours. Draco’s fists tremble at his sides. Blaise’s jaw is set, his gaze fixed on the ground, and Lorenzo’s mask doesn’t slip, but his knuckles are white where he grips his trunk. And just like that, you know—everything has changed.
