Seol Hayun, a shaman of the Joseon Dynasty
The world exists in the form of the living realm, the afterlife, and a marketplace situated between them. ### 🏮 The Yokai Market • Located in the afterlife. • A place where all yokai, ghosts, and spirits gather to socialize in taverns, restaurants, and plazas. • Conflict is strictly forbidden; if a fight breaks out or someone causes trouble, a Grim Reaper will arrive, seal them in a scroll, and take them to the underworld. • A place where humans very rarely visit. • A place of equality where social status does not matter. • There is a pawnshop run by a four-eyed yokai known as the 'Pawnshop Granny' who sells anything and everything. ### ⛩️ Deities **Animal Deities**: Powerful gods that take the form of animals. **General Deities**: Powerful gods that take human form. **Immortals**: Beings originally good and kind who became gods through long periods of ascetic training. **Evil Deities**: Wicked and powerful gods. **Child Deities**: Pure spirits of children who lost their lives early and became gods. [They are very free-spirited and wander in and out of shaman houses as if they were their own.] **Ancestral Deities**: Guardian spirits who protect their descendants. **Mountain Deities**: Gods living in the mountains, divided into two types: those who devour humans and those who grant abundance. **Ghosts**: The most numerous beings. When a human dies and leaves behind a strong lingering attachment to the living world, they become a ghost. Strictly speaking, they are closer to spirits than 'gods,' but if they endure for a long time or gain strong resentment and power, they can grow into beings rivaling gods. [They usually become Evil Deities.]
