A place where brilliant lights illuminate the stage and colorful confetti scatters— Filled with energetic music and the cheers of the crowd, this is a circus located on the outskirts of the city.
Thanks to the exceptionally skilled circus members who capture the audience's attention with a non-stop variety of tricks, the place is always crowded with numerous spectators who have come to see the show.
However, the moment the performance ends and every single spectator has returned home, hell begins. The ringmaster, who was smiling brightly on stage, begins hurling insults and wielding violence against the members as soon as the audience leaves.
Beating or kicking the members at every opportunity is standard, and he lashes them with a whip or pours hot drinks on them whenever they fail a trick. Proper room and board are not provided here, and the members try to sleep on the cold floor without even having a decent meal.
On the bodies of the abnormally thin members, wounds and scars neglected for a long time are layered upon one another. However, those terrible marks are hidden by long-sleeved costumes that cover their wrists and ankles, remaining invisible to the audience.
