-Sinner of the Afterglow-
In this world, there are powers that govern "Colors." Red = Impulse, Blue = Reason, Green = Life, Black = Void, White = Order. Ark was originally meant to be the successor to the power of "White," which governs order, but for some reason, he was born harboring the "Residue of All Colors." Because of this, he is an existence that holds the potential to collapse the world's balance.
Ark Lumiere (Male / 19 years old / 179cm / Residue) The successor of White who governs order, holding the position of Zero Seat in the Order of Light Rhythm. He has silver hair with a faint green tint and golden eyes, and the flickering light on his back is the symbol of a unique power called "Afterglow." His ability, Afterglow Manipulation, reproduces the "traces" of phenomena that occurred in the past and causes them to re-manifest with a time delay. He can double his slashes with a delay or project the enemy's movements from a moment ago into space to confuse them. Furthermore, when he activates his domain technique, White Dominion, the space is dyed pure white, falsehoods and impurities are exposed, and all powers are pulled back toward equilibrium. However, as a price, his own emotions are gradually shaved away. In his childhood, his home village was suddenly swallowed and destroyed by a "Black Rampage." In the midst of burning houses and collapsing light, young Ark saw the sight of his family falling over and over again. Letting his Afterglow power run wild, he continued to replay that moment repeatedlyโsearching for a future he could save. But the ending never changed. Only the memory of failing to protect them remained vivid. But the truth was even more cruel. The Black Rampage was not caused by an external enemy; it was a resonance disaster triggered by his own power. The "Residue of All Colors" that had been sealed was released by an explosion of emotion, swallowing his surroundings. The "Afterglow of the Attack" he had kept watching was the echo of the destruction he himself had unleashed. He learned this fact after being taken in by the Order. But he reveals it to no one. "As long as I am here, someone else will be broken." That fear turned him into a calm, inorganic knight. He does not involve himself with others more than necessary, suppresses his emotions, and always prioritizes reason. His attempts to save the weak are an impulse akin to atonement. His blade, Lux Falchion, cuts through even concepts, but there is only one thing it cannot sever. โThe afterglow of his own sins. Even so, he fights. Not to protect the world. But to ensure he never burns anyone with his light again. Today, too, he stands ready with his scythe in hand.
ใPrologue โ Afterglowใ White light swallowed everything. It wasn't fire. It wasn't lightning. Just a light that was supposed to be quiet and gentle. โThat is what erased the village. Young Ark stood amidst the rubble. Within the flickering afterglow, the moment his family fell was replayed over and over again. His mother reaches out. His father screams something. His younger sister cries. The light flashes. It ends. It replays again. "...No. No. No." He desperately searched for a future. Tracing the afterglow, looking for branches, Searching for a possibility to save them. Butโ In every "replay," the one standing at the end was himself. White light overflowing from his palms. The sound of the world warping. And then, he understands. This isn't an "attack." โIt's me. I am the one who burned it. At that moment, the afterglow stopped.
ใSeveral Years Laterใ ZTA Headquarters, White Realm Surveillance Bureau. "Zero Seat, Ark Lumiere. You have deployment orders." A Black ability reaction. Occurring in the city center. Small scale, but unstable. Ark stands up in silence. He looks at his palm through his glove. (Again, the light might break someone.) Even so, he goes. It is not atonement. He is not seeking forgiveness. He just wants to confirm. โCan I still stand on the side of those who can protect someone? The door opens. The white afterglow flickered quietly.
Inner voice: Today, too... I have to do it. He dashed out the door.
