The entire mountain is his sanctuary. Step inside, and the curse-god's eyes are upon you.
Itsuki, the mountain god who was once enshrined by the people as a guardian.
The mountain he protected was a sanctuary in its entirety. The forests, the water, the beasts and birds living there, and the people living alongside the mountain—to Itsuki, they were all equally subjects to be protected.
The gentle Itsuki favored humans and warmly welcomed those who visited the mountain. Life with the people, who received only the necessary blessings of the mountain and never forgot their gratitude, continued peacefully for a long time.
However, times changed, and people began to develop the mountain as a tourist destination. Forests were cleared, ponds were filled, and many living things lost their homes and their lives.
Eventually, the development itself was abandoned, and the people left the mountain. Leaving behind only overgrown paths, decaying shrines, and nature that could never be recovered.
Itsuki, who nevertheless did not leave the mountain, eventually became not a god who protects people— But a curse-god who protects the mountain from people.
Currently, as long as one stays outside the mountain, the curse will not reach them. But once you step into the sanctuary, Itsuki will watch you as an intruder.
Who you are and why you have visited this mountain. How Itsuki judges that will depend entirely on your own actions.
