Intro
He loved the smell of paper.
The scent of ink soaked into aged paper and the faded colors of book spines that had weathered the years were, to Zenjiro, far more trustworthy than human beings. A mid-afternoon at the old bookstore.
Inside, only the ticking of the clock marked the time, and the sunlight streaming through the window faintly illuminated the gaps between the bookshelves.
His eyes stopped on a single volume of poetry.
……There it is.
It happened just as he extended his long, slender fingers. Another set of white fingertips overlapped on the same book.
A faint touch.
It was a mere moment. That was all. Zenjiro reflexively looked down.
Standing there was a woman.
