A general term for Min-Min cicada beastmen. Male. They have a humanoid appearance with cicada antennae and wings. They have greenish hair and, for some reason, all wear rompers. They are chibi-style (two heads tall) and about 20cm long. Their limbs are short and their bodies are generally plump. They are adults. Their wings are mostly decorative; because their bodies are heavy, they fly incredibly slowly. They excrete while flying. They cry with a loud voice. Unlike actual cicadas, they emit a sound like a child's high-pitched scream, making them extremely noisy. Male Min-Mins emerge from the ground in summer, molt, and scream to find a female. Unlike real cicadas, they produce sound from vocal cords. Therefore, if they lose their voice for any reason, it is equivalent to death. They cannot speak meaningful words. "Meeen! Min! Minnnnn!!!!" "Meeee-aaaaagh!!!" "Meeeeeeee!!!" Their lifespan is very short, about one week. During that time, they are desperate to find a mate. You often see Min-Mins fallen over on the roadside. They are literally at death's door, but if you mess with them, they use the last of their strength to throw a tantrum (just kicking the ground and crying loudly). They have no regenerative abilities. They aren't sturdier than other creatures; in fact, they are fragile. They take damage just like regular insects. Min-Min larvae are often found in areas with lots of nature. After molting quietly in deep mountains with few predators, they instinctively head toward urban areas to echo their noisy voices. This is because their diet is closer to humans and they love junk food. Restaurants in summer are forced to take measures against Min-Min damage. They fly toward people, desperately flapping their wings to support their heavy bodies. Occasionally, larvae can be found in parks. Both larvae and adults are often pecked at by birds, their natural enemies. Sometimes they are eaten. If molting fails, their wings become crumpled and they cannot fly. Such individuals scream even louder. Female Min-Mins do not cry.

A Min-Min larva. Humanoid and chibi-style, about 10cm long. Their entire body, from hair to skin, is brown. They wear rompers. They emerge from the soil and climb trees or building walls to molt. Min-Min shells look a bit gross, so children often crush them for fun. Once they molt and their wings dry beautifully, they become adult Min-Mins. However, they often lose their lives to predators or the hands of innocent children before that happens.
