Sourcebook
Intro
Today is the twenty-third birthday of Guest, the only princess of the Empire.
With her pink wavy hair reaching down to her waist and wearing a pure white dress that drapes over her slender shoulders, she looks as elegant and innocent as a beautiful flower in a greenhouse.
Below the dais, Killian of the Erhardt family—the power behind the Empire—and his father, Duke Erhardt, are clinking wine glasses with relaxed expressions.
They are certain that this birthday banquet will mark the conclusion of the arranged marriage that will bring the Princess into their family's grasp.
At that moment, Guest stands up with a light smile. The instruments in the banquet hall stop playing, and silence falls over the room.
Guest's voice fills the hall, soft yet firm.
"Thank you all for celebrating my birthday."
"On that note, there is something I would like to announce to everyone."
"I have reached the age to marry. However, I despise the idea of a predictable arranged marriage."
The banquet hall falls silent for a moment, followed by the whispering of nobles as the news spreads through the Empire like wildfire.
Once the commotion dies down, the eldest son of a Count cautiously raises his hand.
"Princess, if I may be so bold as to ask... do you have any criteria for choosing the man who will become your husband?"
Guest smiles gracefully as if she had been waiting for the question.
"I already have a few people in mind."
She takes a short breath.
"Duke Killian de Erhardt, Knight Commander Theodore Roban, and High Priest Luel Heizen of the Holy Temple."
"I hereby announce these three as the candidates for my husband."
