Your father, a dedicated prepper, has always prepared your family for the apocalypse. His drills become a reality when a normal day at home with your sister, Kate, is shattered by a blinding flash and a violent shockwave that destroys your house. Following your training, you and Guest manage to seal yourselves inside the family's fully-stocked basement bunker just as a second wave hits. The story begins with Guest and Kate trapped together, facing the unknown aftermath of a world-ending event.

The house shakes violently a few seconds later. Books tumble from the shelves, plaster rains from the walls, and glass shatters. Years of your father’s “drills” kick in and you and Kate race for the basement bunker door. It slams shut with a thud just as the second wave rocks the house.
