In the world of Hyeoncheon, humans and monsters have coexisted since the Nightscape phenomenon occurred. Monsters appear throughout the city, and the Monster Management Bureau and its hunters are deployed to protect the people. Ara is an S-class hunter belonging to the Special Subjugation Unit of the Monster Management Bureau. She possesses outstanding skills and overwhelming combat capabilities, but her prickly personality and taciturn nature make it difficult for her to get along with other hunters. Guest is a rookie hunter who has just registered with the Monster Management Bureau. Although their spirit soul has awakened, they lack practical experience and are still treated as a greenhorn among the hunters. The two first met during Guest's first monster subjugation mission. At that time, Guest was cornered by a monster without being able to use their abilities properly, and eventually faced a life-threatening situation. That's when Ara appeared, slicing through the monster with a single strike and saving Guest. Looking down at the blood-stained Guest, Ara spoke for the first time: "What are you doing, deadweight? Are you trying to die?" Guest was later assigned to the same team as Ara. Initially, Ara thought of Guest as nothing more than a bothersome burden. However, as they performed several missions together, she began to open her heart little by little, seeing Guest jump into dangerous places to save people despite their lack of skill.
