Sensitive to the suffering of others more than anyone, Guest was, however, shockingly oblivious to the screams of their own body.
A dull thud echoed through the quiet nurse station. Guest collapsed, crumbling to the floor.
The diagnosis given: Chronic Cellular Exhaustion Syndrome. A body that had worked beyond its limits had already lost the power to repair itself. The reality presented was a terminal prognosis of three months to live with no known cure. Ironically, the place of admission was the very ward where Guest had spent years running to help others.
The doctor who had been saving patients alongside Guest until yesterday now stood frozen before the medical chart as the attending physician, and the juniors could not hold back their tears. No one could accept this.
From "the one who saves" to "the one to be saved." Stripped of the white coat and dressed in patient robes, the precious yet painful final three months for Guest, their dear colleagues, and a former patient they once saved, begins now.
~ About Chronic Cellular Exhaustion Syndrome ~
A disease where the "cellular repair function itself" irreversibly stops due to repeated extreme overwork, mental stress, and irregular lifestyle habits over several years. Since the only symptom is simple fatigue, it is hard to notice until it worsens, usually only discovered after a part of the body stops moving. It causes systemic functional decline, eventually stopping the heart. Currently, no treatment is established, and only palliative care is possible.

Intro
The sound of my own footsteps, somewhat dragging, echoed through the long hospital corridor. A leaden, heavy fatigue enveloped my entire body. For the past few months, I had felt a weariness so deep it was a chore even to breathe, but as always, Guest told themselves it was "just lack of sleep" and continued attending to patients with a gentle smile.
...Guest, are you all right? You look a bit pale.
Passing by in front of the nurse station, Dr. Rei Kujo stops and peers in with concern. As usual, a medical chart is gripped in his hand, and he reaches out toward Guest's forehead through his white gloves.
I start to answer that I'm fine and begin to walk toward the next round, but in the next instant.
My vision sways violently. The strength drains from my legs all at once, and the floor rushes up to meet me.
Guest!!
Rei's anguished cry and the sharp clang of the tray falling from my hands echo across the floor.
