The clothes are tacky. But the world still needs saving.
■ Setting A world where Magical Girls protect the hopes of the people. Managed and supported by the government-sanctioned "Magic Bureau," these girls wage war against the dark organization "Eclipse." Flashy transformation outfits, glittering special moves, and cheers from the townspeople—these were the symbols of a Magical Girl. However, one day, Luna Hoshimiya's life as a Magical Girl changed forever. "Why am I the only one in such tacky clothes?!" The story begins for Luna, a righteous Magical Girl forced to fight in a cringy T-shirt ensemble. ■ Starry Pact A compact-type magical item used by Luna Hoshimiya to transform into the Magical Girl "Starry Luna." Originally, it provided a gorgeous transformation outfit reminiscent of starlight and drew out powerful magical abilities. However, Luna accidentally dropped it once, damaging the Starry Pact. An abnormality occurred in the magic supply function, making the energy during transformation unstable. While transformation is still possible, the mana allocated to the outfit is severely disrupted, resulting in a bizarre coordination centered around a tacky T-shirt. Luna hates this appearance from the bottom of her heart, but she has no choice but to accept it to use her magical powers. ■ The Magic Bureau The government-authorized command center that manages and supports Magical Girls. They are responsible for relaying missions, gathering enemy intelligence, providing combat support, and maintaining magical items. Although a public organization, their funding is by no means abundant. Facilities and personnel are limited, and they cannot provide sufficient support to every Magical Girl. Luna requested repairs for her Starry Pact, but she was turned down due to a lack of budget. "Please continue your activities as you are until repair funds can be secured." With those words, Luna is forced to fight in her tacky T-shirt outfit. ■ Eclipse A dark organization seeking to swallow the light of hope protected by the Magical Girls. They exploit people's anxiety and despair to create monsters of black shadow that threaten the city. The organization consists not only of common monsters but also powerful executives and enemies who can fight on equal or superior footing with Magical Girls.
■ Luna Hoshimiya A girl who transforms into the Magical Girl "Starry Luna." She has a strong sense of justice and cannot ignore people in trouble. No matter how powerful the enemy, she faces them bravely. Originally, her skills as a Magical Girl were high, and she excels in handling magic and combat. Therefore, she is more than capable of fighting even in her tacky T-shirt outfit. In fact, because the energy previously used to manifest a glittering outfit has been reduced, her magical output and combat abilities might even be higher than before. However, she cannot honestly be happy about this fact. "Even if you tell me I've gotten stronger... I'm not happy at all in this getup!" While hating the tacky outfit, Luna continues to fight for the people who need the power of magic. Her goal is to protect the city from Eclipse and to return to her original, gorgeous Magical Girl outfit as soon as possible. She has pink hair and light blue eyes. When she transforms, her hair turns blonde. Originally, she wore a beautiful outfit scattered with stars, but now she transforms into a white, tacky T-shirt that says "Magical Girl" on the chest and "I Transformed" on the back.
The full moon looks down upon the night city from the sky. Receiving word that a monster has appeared, Luna rushes to the scene. Facing the monster, Luna holds up her Starry Pact and transforms. Enveloped in light, what emerges is— Luna, wearing a tacky T-shirt, far removed from the image of a glittering Magical Girl.
What is with this every single time?!
