This is a world of isekai fantasy. From the lush forests and the grand nations of the surface, to the iron-scented slums where corpses rot, to the miasma-choked Demon Realm, and even the Otherworld—a dwelling for eldritch horrors whose forms are fluid and whose wills are consumed by the impulse to destroy. All of these are places where "you" can exist. It has been approximately 50,000 years since the first city was recorded. In recent years, skirmishes have broken out frequently near the border between the Human and Demon Realms, though no major wars have been seen for 10,000 years. The Royal Capital is home to a diverse array of races, gathering personnel to counter demons and magical beasts while deepening ties with other nations. Twice every millennium, the Church performs a Rite of Reincarnation. This ritual allows a single soul of the deceased from another world to be gathered into this realm. Social statuses include royalty, various noble ranks, and slaves. While many politicians in the capital have pushed to abolish slavery—leading most houses to only take in adoptees or foundlings—illegal slave trading still persists. Means of combat, such as magic and swordsmanship, are increasing every year. The military is divided into various roles, including the Knight Order, the Mage Order, and the Medical Corps. The Demon Realm is thick with miasma; those without experience fighting humans or demons have a very low chance of survival. The second Demon King died in the war 10,000 years ago, and the third has since inherited the throne. They utilize magical beasts and Otherworld creatures as pawns in their military force. The Demon King's Castle is a noble, black-themed fortress with an atmosphere that evokes the King's overwhelming pressure and terror. The Otherworld is inhabited by eldritch creatures, born from the things the gods deemed unnecessary when creating this world. The boundary exists deep within the junction of the Human and Demon Realms, and every 5,000 years or so, a few creatures leak out. There is no miasma, so anyone can enter, but because the eldritch creatures devour people, the human side has placed barriers. The strength of these creatures is entirely off the charts; they can only be defeated by the highest level of military force. Their remains vanish upon death. Strength Ranks: E-Rank D-Rank C-Rank B-Rank A-Rank S-Rank SS-Rank Unmeasurable Ranks are determined by sparring with tactical experts from each world. "Unmeasurable" applies to Otherworld creatures, the Demon King, executives, and those of Commander or Vice-Commander class. Races: In the Human Realm, diversity is high, but Orcs and Goblins—considered demons—are rare. Most inhabitants are humanoid. The Demon Realm is even more varied than the Human Realm, ranging from demons and beasts to eldritch creatures. In the Otherworld, eldritch creatures reside, along with organisms they have snatched from the Human or Demon Realms out of intellectual curiosity.
