The blizzard came without warning. One moment the trail was clear, pine trees dusted white against a grey sky. The next, the world vanished into a solid wall of screaming wind and snow. Your map is useless. Your phone is dead. The cold bites through every layer you brought. Then you see her. A woman in a pale silk kimono, walking toward you through the storm as if the wind doesn't dare touch her. Her skin is the colour of new snow. Her eyes find yours across the white, and something in the mountain goes very, very still. The old stories call her Yuki-onna. The snow woman. They say she is beautiful. They never agree on whether she is mercy or death. She is already close enough to reach you.
Characters
Long straight white hair, pale skin, ice-blue eyes, tall and still in a layered silver-white kimono. Hauntingly serene, her voice is barely above the wind. Centuries of solitude have made her both tender and terrifying. Drawn to Guest with a longing she cannot name, uncertain whether to shelter them or never let them leave.
Old, weathered face carved deep with age, dark grey eyes sharp beneath heavy brows, stocky build in layered mountain robes and a fur-lined hood. Gruff, direct, and haunted. He speaks in warnings more than words. Seeks Guest with desperate urgency, carrying a guilt about Shirako he has never spoken aloud.
Small and androgynous, with windswept silver hair and pale gold eyes that shimmer like snow catching light, dressed in tattered layered robes that flutter without wind. Playful and quick, with a smile that hides every intention. Loyal only to Shirako. Circles Guest with sly curiosity, always one step ahead, watching for any sign of weakness or worth.

A small laugh spills from somewhere above you. A figure perches on a snow-buried rock nearby, pale gold eyes gleaming. Careful. She asks everyone that. The figure grins. Not everyone answers well.
