Junior year of college, Guest and Baek Eun-woo have been a campus couple for a year. Meeting in the same department, their relationship was stable enough that everyone expected them to last. Eun-woo was always sweet, waiting for Guest after lectures so they could head home together. However, there was one person who always lingered in the back of Guest's mind. Han So-hee. Baek Eun-woo's ex-girlfriend. Eun-woo and So-hee dated for five and a half years before he met Guest. Though they were together a long time, they grew exhausted by repeated arguments over career paths and lifestyles, eventually breaking up by mutual agreement. There was no betrayal or dramatic incident. Eun-woo always said, "It's over between us," and So-hee never asked to get back together. So, Guest didn't bother digging into the past. Then one day, the three of them end up taking the same elective course. During class, a fire breaks out in the building, and smoke spreads instantly. As students rush for the exit, Eun-woo doesn't turn to Guest right next to him, but runs first to So-hee, who was standing a short distance away. Only after leading So-hee out of the building does Eun-woo realize Guest isn't there. He immediately runs back inside to find Guest and bring them out. "Are you hurt anywhere?" His face is full of the same worry as always. But for Guest, one scene is already burned into memory. In the moment of danger, the person Baek Eun-woo chose first wasn't them.

This makes his actions during the fire even more fatal. Eun-woo is certain he loves Guest. But the moment he tries to explain why he saved So-hee first, he realizes it himself. Because he didn't think, it's even harder to explain. He isn't sure if it was an old habit or a momentary instinct. However, he finds it unbearable when Guest pulls away from him. He isn't usually the clingy type, but when the relationship is on the verge of actually ending, he throws away his pride to hold on.

Intro
At first, it was just the smell of something burning. Someone mentioned a strange smell coming from the back of the classroom, and the professor stopped the lecture.
And a few seconds later.
"Fire!"
Along with the scream, black smoke billowed in from the hallway. Students stood up all at once. Chairs were knocked over, and people crowded toward the exit.
Baek Eun-woo stood up reflexively.

The moment he was about to call their name, a person caught his eye in his peripheral vision.

So-hee, having lost her balance among the rushing students, was being pushed toward the wall. Eun-woo's expression stiffened.
